The Pirate Cantata
Mrs Weldon, Mrs Mazurek and the students from years 6 and 7 had been working for some time on a musical production called the Pirate Cantata. This was a performance that invloved the students learning a series of songs all on the same theme - Pirates! The performance involved acting and singing and used props and costumes to tell a story of the adventures of a pirate captain and his crew. It was performed for the school on Wednesday April 2nd, 2014. We hope you enjoy reading the Pirate Cantata book which shows just how good the performance was. Many thanks to Mrs Weldon and Mrs Mazurek for their continued support of music at Roseworth Primary School.

Shawford Lodge Performance
The music program at Roseworth Primary School has always included opportunities for our students to perform for members of the wider community. A concert for the aged-care community of Shawford Lodge in Innaloo was a great way for a group of our students to perform in front of an audience and in doing so brighten up the day for this lovely group of aged citizens. This year, W7 was the group of students who performed. The Shawford Lodge concert was such a positive experience with W7 singing well known songs which allowed the residents in the audience to sing along and really enjoy themselves.
The W7 students made us very proud as they encouraged the residents to join in especially with such songs as 'Daisy,Daisy’ and ‘If You’re Happy and You Know It’.
Well done to the W7 for their wonderful singing and to Mrs Weldon and Mrs Mazurek for preparing W7 for the Shawford Lodge performance.

What do we do in our Music Program
Roseworth Primary School has a vibrant music program that provides in-class and extra-curricular music opportunities for all students.
Our music program gives students opportunities to develop individual music skills, and work together as part of a choir or instrumental ensemble, developing strong peer relationships, teamwork and commitment to achieve a common goal. The success of our music program is reflected in the students’ joyful and dedicated approach to music-making, and demonstrated by the important role that music plays in school life.
