Smarter than Smoking
For the first time, six schools in the North Metropolitan area created an advertisement to contest the title of Best Television Commercial for 2014 in the Smarter than Smoking Young Directors’ Festival.
With SMART School Grant funding from Healthway and media expertise from Murdoch University, the Festival put West Block Roseworth Primary School students in the directors’ seats to produce a 30-second anti-smoking television commercial.
Smarter than Smoking Project Manager Natalie Quinn said the program was designed to increase students’ knowledge and understanding of the health and social impacts of smoking, while at the same time teaching valuable film-making skills. Roseworth students took this task seriously and created what we hope will be a winning advertisement. Click on the image below to read all about how this was done. |
