Pre-primary - Five Days a Week at School
Roseworth Primary School like all other schools in Western Australia now offers Pre-primary as the first compulsory year of schooling. This means that all parents of Pre-primary aged students who wish to enroll their child at Roseworth will be guaranteed a place in our Pre-primary classrooms.
All children who are turning five years old by 30 June start Pre-primary at the beginning of that year must now attend school.
Pre-primary is five full days a week. For some children and parents this will take some getting used to. Pre-primary teachers are used to helping families adjust to the new routine, so don’t hesitate to talk to our staff about any concerns you have.
At Pre-primary your child will build on all the skills they learnt in Kindergarten and start laying the foundations in literacy and numeracy for all future learning. They will also start to learn in a more structured way to prepare them for Year 1.
Pre-primary is really important and your child should attend every day to ensure they don’t miss learning any important skills or lessons. These could be difficult to pick up later.
